Do we come to school to learn or to think?

The objective of going to school is to achieve better understanding of respective subjects and to most importantly, learn new things. We do this by thinking of what to learn and absorbing these information given to us by teachers, who have also learnt from others. As a result, we come to school to both think and learn. We think to solve problems, to work out what things mean to us.To summarize this, we come to school to learn and in order to learn, we must think.

Thinking is part of our everyday lives. We think before we do everything, and if we think it is right  we do it. Making decisions also rely on thinking. It is a human instinct to think before we do anything. Without thinking, we would make simple mistakes. Examples are: touching an iron while it’s hot, holding ice for a long period of time and playing music on full volume. We always think to do what we want, how we do it, and why we do it.

Learning new things in our life is as important as thinking. Learning is part of evolving and maturing. As we grow up, we learn to do things differently, to learn manners, to live alone and the list goes on. Learning new things is just something we do everyday, especially at school. By learning, it broadens our knowledge on our surroundings and informs us of it. By thinking, we are putting thoughts into our brain about something. In school these two elements combine, so that we absorb the most information we can during class.
